The waters of Amicalola Falls racing downhill

Scenes like this can be seen as you follow the trail down the hill along the waters as they race and tumble down the mountain. The 729-foot falls that the Cherokee Indians named Amicalola, means, “tumbling waters.” It is the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. If you want to do the easy hike, start at the top and walk to the base. Have a car at the base to drive you back up. If you feel ambitious walk from the bottom up.
